Frequently asked questions

About Swamp Watch, where to find us, and how we work.

What is Swamp Watch?

Swamp Watch is a political news brand that exposes corruption and hypocrisy in American politics. We track who funds politicians and what the donors get back, and we link every receipt to its source.

Where can I follow Swamp Watch?

Daily receipts are on X (@Swamp__Watch) and Threads (@swamp_watch). Short videos are on Facebook, Instagram (@swamp_watch), YouTube, and TikTok (@swamp.watch). Links to every account are at the bottom of each page.

How does Swamp Watch source its stories?

Each receipt links to its source, usually a campaign finance filing, a financial disclosure, a vote record, a court document, or another outlet's reporting, which we credit by name. Our full method is on the standards page.

How do I send Swamp Watch a tip?

Send us a direct message on X at @Swamp__Watch. Include links to any documents or filings. We do not have a tip form on this site.

How do I report an error?

Reply to the post or send a direct message on X. If we got something wrong, we correct it publicly on the platform where it ran and log it on our standards page.

Does Swamp Watch cover both parties?

We ask the same questions about officeholders in both parties and go where the records lead. The politicians index lists everything we have published about each person, so you can check for yourself.

What is The Closetocracy?

It is Swamp Watch's first long-form documentary, about Lindsey Graham's three decades in public life. It premieres October 22, 2026, on The Lindsey Graham Files.

Does Swamp Watch ask for donations?

No. Swamp Watch does not run fundraising appeals.
